Careers of Substance

Careers of Substance is a central resource for anyone involved in preventing, intervening in, treating, and supporting recovery from addictions in Massachusetts.

Just Magic Design got involved in late 2012 when we took over maintenance of the Drupal 6 website. The site has now been converted to Drupal 7, significantly redesigned and enhanced. One of the significant features of the website is the use of "Organic Groups" to implement Workspaces where teams of addiction professionals can collaborate on shared projects. Foundation Beyond Belief

Foundation Beyond Belief, a charitable non-profit, had a broken website. It had not been maintained and even had a number of design flaws. When Just Magic Design started work on the website, it could not be edited; even the blog functionality was broken!

Just Magic Design has worked closely with FBB staff on an ongoing basis to determine what website solutions best fit the organization's needs. Due to some custom functionality in the website, the right choice for FBB was to improve the existing site step by step rather than to re-design and re-implement it. Sue Pelland Designs is a quilting tools and patterns company, founded in 2009, that specializes in rotary cut appliqué. The SuePellandDesigns.com website supports retail sales, along with a blog, calendar and more to connect with the company’s customers and partners. SSRLA.com is a brochure website for Soft Story Retrofitters LA, a Los Angeles firm specializing in structural construction, particularly seismic retrofitting of soft story buildings. The firm wanted a simple and easy to use website to serve as a brochure for their services.

Naturalism.Org is the brainchild of Tom Clark, currently a research associate at the Heller School for Social Policy at Brandeis University in Massachusetts. The mission of Naturalism.Org, created in 1998, is to raise awareness of worldview naturalism and its positive implications, and to develop and promote policies consistent with a naturalistic understanding of ourselves. First Parish Church of Stow & Acton

First Parish is a Unitarian Universalist church in Stow, MA. We moved the site from Joomla to Drupal in order to take advantage of the Views module and Webforms (which are used extensively to sign people up for events and other purposes). The custom theme is responsive The site users are synchronized with the church's database/church management software so that every member has an account automatically and can access a special, members-only area with private information, like the church directory. Paul Greene Art

Paul Greene Art is the portfolio website of oil painter Paul Greene of Sheffield, MA in the Berkshires. The website is for gallery owners and individuals looking for fine art for their home or business. One of the most remarkable paintings is a multiple subject portrait of most of the presiding judges in the Southern District Berkshire Court where Paul practiced law for many years before retiring.
